I feel like I shoulda posted this for you all who joined in the fun of my DFW mini-session day, but unfortunately, I just strolled across it today. This blog I follow is a plethora of tidbits to do with design, decorating, entertaining, etc. I love it. Well, Dina at Honey + Fitz, did a great job laying it out for you all in terms of how to pick out clothes for your sessions.

I get lots of what do we wear questions -- hope this helps those of you I'm shooting in Houston next week and those of you who are having your pictures taking with someone else -- you too can be super chic and stylish without being boring :)

A walk down Holiday Lane

Here's dabble of last years 'sugar and spice and everything nice'. It's fun to take a look back at the little ones and see how much they've changed. Yup. That's the perfect word for my previous blog posts. Sooooo 1999, right?

In the spirit of the upcoming New Year, I'm working on getting more web-saavy. Not so easy to learn HTML at night sitting in bed after a long day in Mommy-land. But, I'm trying.

I'm hoping to keep this blog moving along as the Holiday Mini-Session Season draws nearer. Tips on planning your attire? Got it here. Tips on picking a time? Got it. Etc. You get the picture.

Over this week, I hope to upload some of last year's Mini-Session favorites for inspiration.

Aubrey Turns 2!

Back in November I started my post

for the Tipton Family Session with this:

"If anyone has met Aubrey Tipton

you'll know that she is one of the happiest babies

you'll ever meet. So, there was no doubt in my mind,
that when we'd go to capture her holiday pictures
she wouldn't be any other way."

I find it only fitting that the images I

post for her birthday session be, no less, an

example of the sheer joy she finds in life.

Introducing the Happiest Baby on the Planet...

You wonder to yourself if there is any baby on

this planet happier than that baby. Well... yes.

Meet Luke Froehle.

He is my beloved Godson. His 6 month pictures

(which were really his 8 month pictures) were one

of the most enjoyable sessions I've ever had.

And that is NOT because I'm rather partial to

his giggles. Here are some of the images that I adore -

some of which are framed throughout my home.

"Will You Marry Me?"

This is my best friend, Sinead, from college and her fiance, Wes.

I am so blessed to have a friend like this and to be asked

to be involved in their wedding is such a special gift.

They have plans to be married next month in Mexico (arriba!!)

and in preparations for their special day,

we captured some great images for them to

utilize on their invitations.

Now for a little history: Let's talk Wes.

He's the typical boat enthusiast with an

innate LOVE for all things water (salt, fresh or otherwise :P).

For their engagement portraits we felt it best to

capture the genuine love for the water that

Wes has always had and what love Sinead

has grown throughout the

years they've been together.

P.S. Wes' dad has access to some of DFW's most beautiful boats

and was generous enough to arrange an

yacht for us for the evening.

The Dillon Family

Ashley & Addyson Dillon were introduced to me through

an acquaintance at my husband's office.

This little guy is quite the character! We spent merely

45 minutes at the park before he'd turned bright

red from running around in circles.

What fun! Here are some of my favorites.

I think they do a great job at capturing the rambunctious

spirit of this little man.

Klein Maternity Session

Lisa & Gregory...a mom and her lil' man

I think this lil' guy has some of the most

precious expressions.

Whenever I have the pleasure of taking

his pictures he is always so calm, happy, and sweet!

I love that his photos capture this

innocent time in his life.

Lisa and Gregory have such a

wonderful mother/son relationship and their

photos always reflect this special bond!

It's always such an easy, fun and enjoyable session.

My camera eats him up!

While visiting Houston and being able to

take pictures of Jenny and her pup,

I was also able to take pictures of the Raymond Family.

Quick history lesson:

Ben was my husband's college roomate

and best friend.

So, needless to say, this family is apart of our

family. I try to snap pictures of the girls,

Breanne and Bailey, whenever I have the opportunity.

In fact, you'll find them in my galleries on my website.

Love this child. She has some of the most beautiful

blue eyes you've ever seen. They are so clear and

bright - a sheer sign of happiness!

I've been so anxious to capture her personality on camera.

I just knew it'd be great!

What an exciting time for Antonio and Elizabeth!

They were engaged September 21 in

New York City at the Rainbow Room Grill!!

How romantic!

What perfect time to take their engagement pictures.

This time of year is so beautiful in my neighborhood.

My family and I live in an area of Dallas that

has 100 year old Oak trees lining the streets.

I love the history.

As the trees change colors, it's almost as if

they are telling a story of the past year...

...weddings, engagements, holidays, births...stories of warmth.

Tracewell Family Session

Meet the Tracewells...Bill, Jenny, Grace and...the twins!

I just recently captured the twins' baby pictures for a photo

album Jenny had ordered. I was shocked to see them last

Saturday to see how much they've grown.

Amazing how time flies.

This particular morning it was damp and foggy.

With the horses in the background

and the dewy weather, it had a real "winter" feel

(even if it was 80 degrees!).

Hurst Family Holiday Session

Let me introduce the Hurst Family. This great

family has been a client of mine for well over a year.

They are great to capture, because of their incredible

ability to meld to the environment around them.

They seem comfortable in any circumstance, which makes

their pictures always so wonderful -- it also helps that

they are such a loving family! ;)

"Our" Holiday Session

This year I decided that Witt would be our

holiday card model.

He was such a trooper! Let me just preface by telling you

that Witten has had pneumonia for about a week

now and, as of yesterday, he has just begun to feel like himself.

At first he was not too sure of this whole..."model" thing...

but, after a few minutes he warmed up!

Kudos to Daddy too! He was my best assistant, yet!

Tipton Family Holiday Session

If anyone has met Aubrey Tipton

you'll know that she is one of the happiest babies you'll ever meet.

So, there was no doubt in my mind,

that when we'd go to capture her holiday pictures

Her mom says that she hadn't even had a nap! WOW!

I've been taking Aubrey's pictures since she was a newborn

and she has always been a pleasure to capture.

I'm enjoying watching her grow and change from a tiny infant

to a walking and talking toddler on the move!

I also get the special title of "Aunt Nic"! :) Lucky me!!

Bowling Family Holiday Session

Holiday Session Time!!

First up...the Bowling Family.

What an awesome way to start off the holiday season.

We had endless amounts of laughter as we captured their

three kiddos (Reagan 12, Cash 4, and Jett 2)

all in great moods! Gotta love that!!

Having spent the afternoon at the park enjoying my family,

they graciously stayed to help me capture

some genuine holiday happiness.

They are such a great help when shooting large families.

My husband joined in by entertaining the kids behind the lens

with the likes of his shenanigans...

...bunny ears, slap-stick comedy, and goofy faces!

They all seemed to work wonders

getting the Bowling Family to smile.

Marc & Becky's Maternity Session

Marc & Becky Froehle are due to celebrate the birth of
their new son this upcoming November.
In preparation, we scheduled a photo session a week ago to
capture the lil' momma in her finest hour.

But first, a little history for you:
I worked for Marc over 5 years ago in the restaurant industry
long before he met his lovely wife. After being introduced to
Becky (she was our restaurant's wine rep) Becky and

I began to slowly become friends through Marc.

Little did I know our paths would cross years
later (kids and all) as Marc and Becky would begin new lives
at the very company where my husband works.
I'm proud to be apart of the changes in their life
as I've witnessed them grow from newlyweds to parents.

I had a great time shooting the Froehle's maternity pictures and
I just had to share the images below.

It is quite evident that Becky is the more serious one of the two.
I was having a little bit of trouble getting Marc
to relax in front of my lens!

THE MANY FACES OF MARC FROEHLE:

Marc comes from a "military" family.
He was having a bit of trouble RELAXING!

Could he be standing any straighter? :P

We're getting a little closer to being
relaxed in this picture.

As Laughter Photography grows in leaps-and-bounds

I'm trying to make sure that my clients and guests get the

full experience of what each session is like.

Some great things happen while I'm on a photo session and often

these things happen outside of my view finder.

Almost always these happenings aren't showcased.

It could be...

...that crazy dog, the random bird, a bystander reactions...

...the list could go on and on.

So, please enjoy my blog as I hope it will open up a window for you into what
